Property Title • Dec 17 - Dec 22, 2025

Hi Brent, Thank you for your booking. I'm looking forward to hosting you 😊 I've put quite a bit of effort into making my place nice for AirBnB so please look after it 🙏🏼 The earliest check in is 3pm. If you could let me know when you plan to check in that would be great. In exceptional circumstances I can sometimes offer early checkin. Here's some information that will help you get around the flat. Most of these are straightforward, the general rule of thumb is that I would expect you to treat my flat as you would your own: take the shoes off when in the flat, don’t smoke inside the flat, avoid playing loud music after 10pm etc... Note I live in the place most of the time, so it will have some of my belongings in, but there is wardrobe space in both rooms. 🚪Doors There is a lockbox, details will be provided prior to your stay. Please don't forgot to return them to the key safe at the end of your stay! 🔑 🌐 WiFi The WiFi network is called SmokeyWhiskey and the password is peatmonster1 🚘 Parking There is paid parking in a private card park on Carlton Road, right next to my flat. Let me know in advance if you want to make use of this so I can send you full details. You will be fully reimbursed for the parking. But ask about where to park. 🌡Heating You can control the heating using the Hive thermostat which is in the living room on the wall. There is a boost button on the top of it, or you can turn the dial. 🎵 Music There are Sonos speakers in the kitchen. Connect to the WiFi and cast from Spotify or Apply music to "Kitchen". ☕️ Coffee & Food Coffee, tea, as well as mugs, can be found in the cupboards in the kitchen. Please feel free to make use of the spices and condiments. Any alcohol in the fridge is fair game 🍸 🪣 Appliances In the kitchen, you have an oven, stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher & toaster, which are all easy to use. 📽 TV There is a Samsung Smart TV with Netflix & Prime Video - use the remote on the coffee table. Let me know if you need any help. 🚮 Waste and Recycling: The black bin in the kitchen is refuse, the other one is recycling. Glass should not be put in the recycling - leave that separately. If you need to take rubbish out then the bins are on Carlton Road, just before the big arch (turn right and right again when you come out the building). 🐶🐱 Pets Please let me know if you wish to bring a pet. Pets are not allowed to be on the sofa or the beds, there will be additional cleaning charges for pets hairs on bed linen or the soft furnishings. 📍The full address is Flat 11, 35 Leith Street, Edinburgh, EH1 3AT. The flat is on the 3rd floor. And don't be confused about the first door you come to which says "11 & 12" - it's not locked, go straight through and you'll see the entrance to flat 11. 🧡 Finally, This is my home when I’m not travelling, so I’ve tried to make it cosy and welcoming for you too. If anything feels off or could be improved, even something small, just let me know — I’ll do my best to sort it out. And if you’re happy, a little 5★ love always means a lot!😊

Thanks for all the details Brent. It will be a pleasure to host you! Edinburgh is a city with so much to explore. I will send to you some usefull tips, of course 😊

Regarding getting around. Edinburgh city centre isn't huge and it's very beautiful, so if its nice weather then it's lovely to walk around. However, if you do want to use public transport then I'd highly recommend downloading loading an app called CityMapper - it's the most accurate and upto date. The post code of my flat is EH1 3AT.

Regarding sites to see, right near the flat is Carlton Hill from which you get a pretty good view of the city and you can do a short walk in a loop from the flat. The Scott Monument in Prince's Street Gardens is always worth a visit - you can go upto the top, lots of steps and they get narrower and narrower as you go up and the view from the top is stunning. You can't really go to Edinburgh without walking up to the Royal Mile. If you walk up towards the castle and take a left into George IV Bridge and go down Victoria Street (which is such a beautiful little street which curves down the hill into the Grassmarket). There are a bunch of pubs and eateries in the Grassmarket, then you're truly in the old town. From there you can walk round and into Prince's Street Gardens and walk around the Castle. If you fancy a longer hike then I love to walk over the Salisbury Crags (start around here https://maps.app.goo.gl/hAzzufDxsZRbPrrU6 and take the path that goes up and over the crag). You get a beautiful view of the city from here.

Regarding restaurants, I personally really like Pickles on Broughton Street. It's a little wine bar that does charcuterie boards and such like in a relaxed atmosphere. If you're looking for something a little more substantial then head towards St Andrews Square (<5min walk) on your way there there there's a place called Tattu (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Vtx7FN3w1YCwq3SJ7) whcuh does modern Chinese food in a beautiful setting. On St Andrew's Square you have a variety of restaurants. Dishoom does great south Indian food. And right next to there is Gaucho who do very nice steaks (although a little pricy). One of my favourite places currently is Mowgli Street Food which just a street over from Saint Andrews Square (https://maps.app.goo.gl/UKhczFz492q5hM9A9)

An early checkin will depend on whether we have guests leaving that day or not.. In case there are guests checking out the morning of the day you arrive and If you need somewhere to store your luggage while you wait then there is a service called Luggage Hero. It's like Airbnb for bags - shops will keep hold of your bags for a small fee. There's one of Broughton Street which is very close to my flat and there are a number of nice cafes on that road. Here's the link: (https://app.luggagehero.com/shop-details/629604dac16ad871b03f737d;bags=1;from=202306131200;to=202306131300;source=app) I hope this helps! 🙏☺️

Hi Brent, Sarah & Audrey, I hope you're all looking forward to your time in Edinburgh. Just to give you a little update - there are guests checking out on the day you checkin, so unfortunately we won't be able to offer an early check-in, but you can checkout the luggage storage options I mentioned before. I can also speak to the cleaner and ask if you can drop luggage a the flat from 2pm, if that would be helpful at all? I'll send some tips on getting to my apartment for the airport and I'm guessing you'll be landing in EDI from a connecting flight from London.

Dec 14, 2025 08:38 PM

... To my flat from the airport is fairly easy. The best in my opinion is the 100 bus. It's the only bus that leaves from the airport and it is every 10 minutes. You stay on the bus until the very last stop (South St David Street). Then my flat is a 6min walk. You just need a contactless bank card, or Apple or Google pay for the bus ticket. The postcode of my flat is EH1 3AT. It's 35 Leith Street, the entrance is next to a restaurant called Maki & Ramen. It's flat 11 on the third floor. I'd highly recommend downloading an app called CityMapper for navigating public transport in Edinburgh. But you can also use Apple Maps or Google maps with the postcode above.

¡Gracias! Nos encantaría dejar las maletas temprano si es posible. ¡Somos EDI de JFK, y cualquier consejo es apreciado!

So regarding checkin for tomorrow - there is a lockbox on the wooden doorframe of 35 Leith Street - it is the very top one. The code is 2988. The key can be a bit of a fiddle - but it does work, promise 🙏 you basically have to pull the key half out of the lock for it to turn, the key turns to the right (clockwise)... The entrance to the building is next to a restaurant called Maki & Ramen. Flat 11 is on the 3rd floor (don't be confused by the internal door which says 11 & 12 that appears to have a lock on it - it doesn't). Please arrive after the 3pm checkin time unless we have agreed otherwise. Let me know if you have any issues 😊 P.S you should also get this info on the day of checkin through the airbnb app with photos to help guide you. I'm just putting it here so you've got the code (2988) in two places 👍🏼

¡Hola! Solo quería saber si podemos dejar las maletas. Hasta ahora estamos pasando un rato maravilloso. ¡Gracias por los consejos y las indicaciones!

Dec 17, 2025 01:52 PM

Yes you can go and drop bags off now

Dec 17, 2025 02:08 PM

It may be the cleaning team have finished - if there is nobody at the flat and it looks setup then you're fine to just check in 👍🏽😊

Dec 17, 2025 02:09 PM

¡Gracias!

Dec 17, 2025 02:10 PM

I know you've just checked in, but just a quick note to say that when you do checkout I need you to put the keys back in the lockbox where you found them. It's the very top one and the code is 2988. Also, Just a quick note to help you enjoy the flat comfortably. As the building is historic and the bathroom design is being updated little by little, please make sure to keep the shower head pointing downwards (not towards the curtain) and use moderate water pressure rather than the maximum setting. This small tip really helps keep everything working well and makes your stay more pleasant. Thank you so much! 🙏🏼😊

Dec 17, 2025 07:00 PM

Hi Brent, hope you've settled in nicely. Let me know if you need anything or if anything isn't upto scratch. If anything isn't 5* worthy I'd much prefer if you communicate with me and I can try and make it right 🙏🏻

Dec 18, 2025 09:01 AM

Dec 18, 2025 01:19 PM

Ah, thankyou so much for your kind words 🙏🏽🙏🏽 glad everything is in order. Heh, yes, it's quite a hike up those stairs. The building is more than 200 years old, so many buildings in Edinburgh are like this and there isn't any condo equivalent for paying for communal upgrades. I think in all my time in Edinburgh I've seen one building with a retro-fitted lift. So I think the stairs have to be taken as part of the charm 😅 Do let me know if you need anything during your stay. 🙏🏽😊

Dec 18, 2025 01:24 PM

Just FYI, I'm just getting on a flight back from Chile so I'll be offline for 14 hours 🙏🏽

Dec 18, 2025 03:51 PM

Buen viaje

Dec 18, 2025 03:52 PM

I hope you've had a really lovely stay! Just a quick reminder to put the keys back in the lockbox when you checkout at 11am. It's the very top one and the code is 2988. Thanks! 🙏🏼
